This past year I’ve finally taken some much needed time away from “The Job”
I love writing. I love everything about being a Writer. (Blurbs not included) When what you love to do starts feeling like you have to do it, then it is time to make a change.
Oh, I understand the need that some Authors have to crank out the word count each week. If they don’t have a new book out every six or eight weeks, they don’t have the money to pay their rent or feed the cat/dog. I am in awe of their abilities to continue to come up with new stories in so little time. I cannot do that and maintain stories that do not have that ‘cookie cutter’ feel when they are read.
I have been writing, don’t believe for a second that I could stay away from my keyboard for more than a few short hours at a time. However, I am finally finishing the only 2018 written novel that has given me so many fits. I started and stopped writing this story four, yes 4 times. It is embarrassing to admit to having so much trouble for one book. This book is the reason that I decided to take the time for other things.
Pressley is one of the Burning Bastards youngest members. He was first mentioned in Charlie’s Heart. The man has quite a backstory and that has been the problem for me. No matter how many times I tried to simplify his story, he kept asking me “Why didn’t you include the time that I did, or how about my mother. Huh? So I’ve had troubles, but I still get the girl, right? Do your damned job and tell the Readers the whole story, not the watered down bullshit.”
Do you see what kind of crap I’ve been putting up with? To top that off, Pressley’s love interest is a woman that is five years older than he is. She is hung up on the age difference, and he is hung up on changing her mind. Oh yes, did I mention that she has a back story too?… Back stories, Plot, Hot Sex, resolution of events, and meshing both lives. It is not as easy as it appears, but I do believe that I’ve finally got a conclusion that will make everyone happy. – No, no pregnancy, no secret million or billionaire’s. Just love.
In other news, and yes I am bragging.
In fact I am tickled to death about this. It might have been a fluke, but I will happily take it. I loved the 1st Dead Pool movie, but somehow I missed the 2nd one. Not only did the Burning Bastards MC get half a second visual in the movie. It was released on my birthday!
